Workshop mit Jonas Feller in Kapstadt beim 19. ASSITEJ World Congress Cradle of Creativity am 19. und 20. Mai 2017 im Rahmen des Focus Day Theatre as Education.
Mit ca. 15 internationalen Teilnehmenden wurden an zwei Tagen Gesprächsformate, die ein Gespräch auf Augenhöhe zwischen allen Teilnehmenden ermöglichen, erprobt und besprochen. Nachdem der erste Tag vor allem dem gemeinsamen Ausloten von Erfahrungen mit und Visionen von Gesprächen und dem Sprechen über das Sprechen gewidmet war, ging es am zweiten Tag nach dem gemeinsamen Aufführungsbesuch um das praktische Erproben einzelner Formate.
Es hat sich gezeigt, der Bedarf nach Gesprächen und Menschen, die diese anleiten können und wollen ist überall vorhanden. Der World Congress war da leider keine Ausnahme. Denn außer den Gesprächen im Workshop (und natürlich all den Privatgesprächen) ließ das Festivalprogramm Gespräche über Aufführungen vermissen.
Eine Erkenntnis die bereits beim Wildwechsel 2015 aufkam: Festivals die Theater für Kinder und Jugendliche machen haben scheinbar Schwierigkeiten ihr Zielpublikum (Kinder und Jugendliche) und ihr zweites Zielpublikum (Fachpublikum und Theaterschaffende) zusammen und vor allem in Dialog zu bringen. Da ist auf jeden Fall noch Arbeit zu leisten und ich hoffe, dass wir als GDG da einen Beitrag zusteuern können.
„Talking about theatre is a continuous engagement with performances and especially important for young audiences and their reflection of art. But often talking about performances is a moderated q&a with the artists talking about their work and only little space for exchange to speak about the experiences of the audience made during and after the show. Discussions about and post-processing of performances can be more than talking about intentions, purposes and ideas of the artists: they can be a space to issue the audiences experiences and collective reflexion; they got potential for an exchange at eye level – between artists and audience, between children, youngsters and adults. Instead of speaking about staging and production concepts and dramaturgies one can ask: What did you experience? What do you remember? How do you feel now compared to how you felt before the performance? When talking about individual experience, everybody is an expert (not only the artists, professionals and adults) – an expert for the own experience. This kind of talk is focused on the exchange of experiences made.
The workshop deals with methods, strategies and formats for creating and moderating non-hierarchical discussions. It is about taking the audience’s experiences seriously and to value the judgements and opinions of the others. Especially for talking with children and youngsters such non-hierarchical space and being seen as equal dialogue partners is essential.
The workshop will focus on methods which can be used for talks and post-processing with children and youngster. The formats have different functions but all of them enable a low based entry in discussions which includes everybody and gives an opportunity for participation to everybody.“
